Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 June 2026
1. The service
Tradegap.uk provides an online platform on which main contractors can post work and subcontractors can post available capacity. We facilitate introductions. We do not provide construction, trade, recruitment, employment, consultancy or vetting services.
2. No vetting, no verification, no endorsement
In no way does Tradegap vet, verify, qualify, endorse, accredit, employ or supervise main contractors or subcontractors using the platform. Information posted by users — including company details, qualifications, certifications, insurances, accreditations, rates and availability — is self-declared and is not checked by us.
Each user must carry out their own due diligence on any other party before engaging them or accepting work, including (without limitation): identity, right to work, company registration, financial standing, references, insurance cover, health & safety policies, qualifications, certifications, CSCS/CITB cards, accreditations, and any other legal or regulatory requirements relevant to the work.
We are simply a platform connecting contractors with subcontractors. Any decision to engage, contract with, pay or work for another user is made entirely at the user's own risk.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity carried out under your account.
4. Acceptable use
- Post only accurate, lawful information.
- Do not impersonate any person or business.
- Do not post discriminatory, unlawful, fraudulent or misleading content.
- Do not scrape, reverse engineer or misuse the platform.
- Comply with all applicable UK laws, including employment, tax (IR35), CIS, health and safety, and data protection.
5. Subscriptions, payments and refunds
Main contractor subscriptions and one-off features (e.g. featured listings) are billed through Stripe. Free trials convert automatically into paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends. Subcontractor accounts are free; optional paid features (e.g. featured capacity at £9.99) are non-refundable once the feature has gone live.
6. Contracts between users
Any agreement, contract, payment or arrangement between a main contractor and a subcontractor is solely between those two parties. Tradegap.uk is not a party to and has no responsibility for: scope of work, quality of work, timescales, payment, defects, insurance claims, accidents, disputes, or any other matter arising between users.
7. Disclaimer
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations, express or implied, including as to accuracy, suitability or non-infringement. We do not warrant that any user is qualified, insured, certified, solvent or trustworthy.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tradegap.uk shall not be liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect, special or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform or any interaction with another user. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate any account that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe poses a risk to other users or the platform.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales (or Scotland where applicable to a Scottish user) and the courts of the United Kingdom shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
