Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Tradegap.uk ("we", "us", "our") operates an online platform that connects UK main contractors with subcontractors who post available capacity. We are the data controller for personal data submitted through the platform.
2. What we collect
- Account information: name, email, company name, role, contact details.
- Listing information: job posts, capacity posts, locations, dates, rates, qualifications and insurance you choose to list.
- Billing information: subscription tier and payment metadata (card details are processed and stored by our payment provider, Stripe, not by us).
- Usage data: log-in activity, feature usage and device information used to operate and improve the service.
- Communications: messages you send via the contact form or to other users through the platform.
3. How we use your data
- To operate the platform, match posts and deliver notifications.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To provide customer support and respond to your enquiries.
- To detect abuse, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.
- To send service updates. Marketing emails only with your consent.
4. Sharing
We share information you publish (e.g. job posts, capacity listings) with other platform users so matches can happen. We use trusted processors to run the service — including cloud hosting, payment processing (Stripe) and email delivery. We do not sell personal data.
5. No vetting or verification
We do not perform background checks, credit checks, insurance verification, certification verification, right-to-work checks, or any other form of vetting on users of the platform. Information posted by users (including qualifications, certificates and insurances) is self-declared. Each user must independently verify the suitability, legitimacy and credentials of any party they engage with before entering into any agreement or work.
6. Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and reporting requirements.
7. Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form.
8. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
9. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to provide the service (authentication, session, security) and to understand usage in aggregate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the platform.
